Do you offer a monthly membership?

No. SoulCycle does not offer memberships. It does not require any long-term commitment. Rather, you can buy as many or as few classes as you like. If you want to buy one class, that's fine. But, if you're riding regularly, our larger series offer a price discount. To see our class pricing, click HERE.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes. SoulCycle's gift certificates are called "gift cards". They never expire and the person you are giving them to can use his or her gift cards to buy classes or any kind of merchandise. Once a class is purchased using a gift card, it will expire just like any other class purchased. If you would like to buy a gift card, please click HERE.

Are classes different from gift cards?

Yes. At SoulCycle, you can purchase classes as well as gift cards, but they are not the same thing. Unlike gift cards or gift certificates, classes are for our rides only. You cannot give classes to another as a gift (i.e. convey ownership) and the classes do expire. The expiration dates are posted in the descriptions of the class or series of classes. Can I buy a class and then give it as a gift?

No. You cannot sell or transfer your class to someone else.

Can I redeem a class and get cash back?

No. When you buy a class, you are only entitled to use that class to book a bike in a particular studio at a particular time. You cannot redeem your class for cash.

Can I redeem a class for merchandise?

No. When you buy a class, you are only entitled to use that class to book a bike in a particular studio at a particular time. You cannot redeem your class for merchandise.

What if I can't do everything in the class? I haven't worked out in a while.

One of the best things about indoor cycling is that it can be adapted to any fitness level. With the ability to adjust the resistance level on the bike, the workout can suit each rider's abilities. With every class comes increased confidence and strength, so we encourage first timers to go at their own pace and have fun.

How is SoulCycle different from the cycling classes offered at my gym?

SoulCycle is a full body indoor cycling workout. We ride to the beat of the music and incorporate upper body exercises into our workout.

How many calories are burned per class?

It depends on the weight of the individual and the amount of exertion used. Research indicates that on average, indoor cyclists can burn from 500-700 calories in a vigorous 45-minute workout.

Can I ride if I am pregnant?

We have had many pregnant women who are able to ride right up until their due date, but we recommend you check with your doctor before riding at SoulCycle.

Is there any way to make the seat more comfortable?

As a beginner, the bike and bike seat require a little getting used to. During this phase, it sometimes helps to wear padded bike shorts or use a cushioned gel seat. In a short period of time you won't necessarily need either.

Do cycling shoes really make a difference and if so, what type should I get?

Cycling shoes offer a more secure position in the pedals enabling the cyclist to work much more efficiently. Pedal strokes become more powerful and allow you to target the correct muscle groups. We recommend "Look Delta" cleats for our bike pedals, but SPDs will also work.

My friends and I want to take our first class together. Do we need to create our own accounts to sign up?

Yes, each new rider must create an account and fill out a New Rider Waiver Form (available in studios) before their first class. You are able to book up to five bikes in a single SoulCycle class per account, and up to three bikes in a single 60-minute SoulSurvivor per account. Please note that classes are not transferable to other rider accounts.Minor Waivers: Riders in the USA between the ages of 12 and 17, and riders in Canada who have not reached the age of majority in the province in which they are riding, must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver in studio.

Do you have childcare in the studio?

No. Unfortunately, we don't.

Do you have locker rooms?

All SoulCycle studios have lockers with built in, easy-to-use locks. We also have separate changing rooms, complete with toiletries and, in most cases, showers.

Do you have water or do I have to bring mine?

We sell water in the USA for $4 and in $3.50 CAD in Canada. We also have filtered water fountains at the studio if you need to fill up.

What are your studio rules?

  • All riders must sign a waiver prior to their first ride.

  • We reserve the right to release any bikes that are not signed in for 4-minutes before a class begins. In order to hold the bike, we ask that riders call the studio to let us know they are on their way if they are running late. The front desk will hold a bike for up to 10 minutes after class begins, though we cannot guarantee the rider will be given the bike they signed up for. Riders who are more than 10 minutes late will not be admitted into class.

  • In order to cancel a class reservation and return it to your account, you must unreserve by 5 PM the night prior to the class. If a rider does not cancel their bike they will be charged for it. Riders can cancel by logging into their profile online or calling any studio directly.

  • We are not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen at our studios.

  • If a rider is planning on leaving class early, we ask that they please tell the Instructor ahead of time.

What is Soul Early?

Soul Early is an optional scheduling feature that lets you book a bike early. Soul Early is not a class or series of classes. After you buy a class or a series of classes, Soul Early lets you book your bike early – on Sunday at noon instead of Monday at noon for the following week – for a non-refundable fee of $15 per bike. Soul Early is an optional feature. You do not need to purchase Soul Early in order to purchase or book a class or series of classes.Soul Early only lets you book your bike early and cannot be used toward a class or class series. The fee for the Soul Early feature is separate from whatever you pay for your classes and will not be returned or refunded unless SoulCycle cancels the class, or you wish to be refunded in the event of an instructor change. Safety FAQs

What measures are employees taking to reduce the risk of virus exposure? 

Our warehouse employees have been practicing social distancing and performing morning temperature checks since 3/17, to lessen the chances of virus exposure and subsequent order delays.

What increased sanitation measures have been put into place? 

Multiple hand sanitizing stations have been installed in all picking and packing work areas. Warehouse employees are required to sanitize their hands multiple times a day. In addition, they are required to wear gloves upon entering the warehouse.

What measures have been taken to decrease contact in the shipping and delivery process? 

Our warehouse has implemented a no contact exchange with UPS. Boxes are placed on a skid, and a machine delivers the skid directly into UPS trailers. This eliminates any person to person contact.

How do I use my gift card to purchase a class?

You can use your gift card to buy a class or merchandise. If you want to buy a class using your gift card, you can enter the gift card code and pin online at checkout or use the gift card at one of our studios. Remember that classes expire, so there will be an expiration date associated with the class you buy using your gift card.

Need to make a return?

There are three different methods of purchasing retail items at SoulCycle: in-studio, our website or app, and Instagram Shop. Return policies vary depending on the method of purchase. Please see our helpful guidelines for making a return below!

FOR IN-STUDIO PURCHASES:

  • Items must be returned within 30 days of purchase, unwashed and unworn with tags still on.

  • Items must be returned to any SoulCycle studio.

  • If you purchased your item under your Soul account, a staff member can easily look it up in your purchase history!

  • If you do not have a SoulCycle account and checked out as a guest, you must have the full receipt present when making your return.

  • Was this item a gift? You can still return! We just need the full receipt to issue the return.

  • Upon return, you will receive a store credit on your account that can be used for anything at Soul (classes, retail, etc.). Our store credit can only be accessed at our studios, so always let a member of the SoulCycle team know to pull from your credit whenever you want to make a purchase, or ask our staff if you have any questions about how much store credit is remaining.

  • Returns for store credit can only be made in the country of purchase.

First Ride

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. It's important for us to know who's riding with us and to have your contact information. Adult riders can create an account online, in studio, or by calling a studio. Riders under 18 in the USA, or riders in Canada who have not reached the age of majority in the province in which they are riding, can create an account in studio provided their parent or guardian is present.

Do I have to have my own shoes?

No. We offer shoe rentals at all studios in the USA for $3 and $2 CAD in Canada. You are of course welcome to bring your own though. We recommend Look Delta clips, but our pedals are also SPD compatible.

How early should I come?

If it's your first time with us, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your class. Please note, that if you have not signed in 4 minutes before the class starts, your bike may be released. If you are running late please give the studio a call and we will hold bikes for up to 10 minutes after class starts.

What do I need to wear?

We suggest sporting a tee or tank on top and form-fitting pants or shorts on the bottom.

How does it work when I get there?

When you arrive at the studio, check in with the front desk. The staff will help you sign-in for your bike, give you a tour of the studio, and set up your bike with you. For more information, click HERE.

SuperSoul

Do I have to use SuperSoul for every class?

Not at all! You can use classes from your SuperSoul series whenever you wish (a.k.a, for that always sold-out 9:30am) and then continue to book with your regular series for other classes you’d like to book at noon on Mondays.

How do I book?

Our SuperSoul concierge will handle all your bike booking needs! Just email your class requests to SuperSoul@soul-cycle.com with the class time, date, instructor, studio and your bike preference. While we can’t guarantee specific bikes, we do our very best to make sure everyone gets a bike they love!

Can I cancel on my own?

Definitely. SuperSoul bikes can be cancelled through the SoulCycle app or website, just like regular classes. You can also email the SuperSoul concierge if you’d like them to cancel a bike for you.

What’s the cancellation deadline?

The deadline to cancel any class is 5:00pm the day before the class.

Can I have two separate packages?

Yes! Many riders use a SuperSoul package for classes they’d like to guarantee ahead of time and a regular series for classes they book themselves on Mondays at noon.

Can I book multiple bikes in one class?

Yes, you can! Your SuperSoul series allows you to book two bikes per account per class. If you have a special event—a birthday, or an anniversary, etc.—reach out to our SuperSoul concierge and let them know. We’ll work with you to make your day special; celebrations are kind of our thing.

Can I request a specific bike?

Yep! With so many people often requesting the same bikes, we can’t always honor exact bike requests, but we do our best to get the bike you ask for. If we can’t, we’ll find one that makes you just as happy—promise.

How far in advance can I book?

Bikes can be booked anywhere from 4-6 weeks in advance. We’ll send you an email announcing the start of the next booking window and you can send in any requests for that window on the Monday prior at 8am.

Do the classes expire?

Our SuperSoul package is good for one year from its date of purchase.

Is this a membership?

SuperSoul is not a membership and its privileges can only be honored with an active SuperSoul series.

Can I book my own classes?

SuperSoul classes are booked through our SuperSoul concierge. Let us do the hard work for you!

SoulBeat

What is SoulBeat?

SoulBeat is a post-ride recap that shows how you connect with the music during your ride. It combines the music from your class with data from your bike to show you:

  • Your Beat Match (a.k.a. how often you rode with the beat of the music)

  • Stats like power and distance

  • Your “rode home to” song

  • Your Soul milestones (motivation for your 100th or 1,000th ride!)

Where is SoulBeat available?

All studios in New York City, Northern California, and London.

How does SoulBeat calculate my data?

Every bike participating in SoulBeat has a discreet power meter on the crank. This meter will capture a power and cadence measurement within 2% accuracy!

Does the arms portion of class impact my SoulBeat stats?

Your Beat Match is not impacted by what happens during the arms series. However, if your instructor includes pushes during the arm section, we’ll include those in your power and cadence calculations.

How can I increase my power number?

There are three ways to increase your power wattage: add more resistance, increase your cadence, or both. While you increase your average power, try to also keep your Beat Match high.

Student Pricing

What is SoulCycle student pricing?

Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a US degree-granting college or university may be eligible for SoulCycle classes at a special, reduced rate.

Who is eligible for student pricing?

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a US degree-granting college or university. Your enrollment status is verified through a third-party service called SheerID.

How do I get verified?

Click here or log in to your account and choose the student series you would like to purchase. Follow instructions to confirm your enrollment and once verified, you will be able to access SoulCycle student pricing on the web, SoulCycle app, or in the studio.

Do I need to get verified every time I purchase a series?

Nope! Once you get verified you are covered for the calendar year. You’ll need to get re-verified every calendar year.

Is it available at all SoulCycle studios?

Student pricing via SheerID is currently available for all US SoulCycle studios (except the Hamptons, seasonal, and pop-up studios) and is available manually in Canada and the UK. Student pricing varies per region, please read our Terms and Conditions for more details.

I recently purchased a series, can I get it adjusted to student pricing even though it is partially used?

Unfortunately, student pricing is not retroactive. We are more than happy to help you through the verification process so you can take advantage of student pricing on your next series purchase.

I’m having issues verifying my enrollment status online. What should I do?

Can I return or exchange my Soul Appreciation Sale items?

All Soul Appreciation Sale orders are final sale and ineligible for return or exchange. 

How can I cancel my order? 

We’re honoring all cancellation requests for Soul Appreciation Sale orders. 

If the order has already shipped from the warehouse and you no longer wish to receive it, we’re happy to make an exception and allow a return.

Are there shipping fees?

There will be a shipping fee of $5.99 for all US orders, and $7.99 for all CAD online orders during the Soul Appreciation Sale period. 

When can I expect to receive my order?

All orders are estimated to take 8–10 business days to process at our warehouse before shipping. Once shipped, your order should arrive within 5–10 business days via UPS ground shipping. Once your order is on the road, you can expect a shipping confirmation email with a UPS tracking number.
